In the late summer of 2017, the community of Westwego, Louisiana, was rocked by the violent death of a local man. Charles Thomas, a 39-year-old African American male, was found deceased on September 5, 2017, under circumstances that immediately suggested foul play to the authorities who arrived at the scene.
