In the early morning hours of January 15, 2018, the body of 39-year-old Tameka Robinson, a female resident of Laplace, Louisiana, was discovered near the intersection of Louisiana 628 and Cardinal Street. She had been shot multiple times in what authorities quickly determined to be a homicide. Robinson, known to her friends and family as 'Red,' was a mother to three daughters.
In the days following the discovery of her body, Robinson’s family, including her sister Michelle Pooler, made public pleas for information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for her death. While acknowledging that Robinson had struggled with drugs, her sister emphasized that she was a loving mother and a fun-loving person who did not harm others. The family expressed their deep sense of loss and their desperate need for closure, fearing that Tameka’s case would become another unsolved 'cold case.'
As the investigation continued into the following year, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office continued to seek leads from the public. In April 2019, they highlighted that a $5,000 reward through Crimestoppers was available for any information that would lead to the arrest and indictment of a suspect. Despite these efforts and the ongoing investigation, there have been no arrests made in connection with the murder of Tameka Robinson. The case remains an unsolved homicide, leaving her family and community still waiting for justice.
