On Valentine's Day in 2019, a tragic and violent act cut short the lives of 25-year-old Aerial Edwards and her unborn child in Glynn, Louisiana. Edwards, who was pregnant at the time, was inside a house on Russell Lane when she was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting. The unborn baby did not survive the attack, which investigators believed specifically targeted the residence.
The investigation into the brutal slaying led to a series of arrests, ultimately bringing charges against six
adults and one teenager. The two main suspects accused of carrying out the shooting, 19-year-old Treveon Robinson and 22-year-old Andre Griffin, were apprehended in Texas and extradited back to Pointe Coupee Parish. Both men faced charges of first-degree murder and first-degree feticide for the deaths of Edwards and her unborn child.
In addition to the primary suspects, several other individuals were implicated in the crime. Jericho Hamburg and Nicholas Robinson, both 21, were arrested and booked as principals to the murder. A 16-year-old was also taken into custody on the same charges. The final suspect to be apprehended was 47-year-old Tonia Robertson of Erwinville, who turned herself in to authorities and was charged as an accessory to the crime. The extensive investigation revealed a network of individuals allegedly involved in the planning and execution of the fatal shooting.
