Jabril Mitchell-Long, a 20-year-old man from Detroit, Michigan, was fatally shot on November 11, 2017. The incident occurred late in the evening in front of 16757 Mansfield Street on Detroit’s west side. His death added to the troubling and ongoing pattern of gun violence within the city, where many homicides remain unsolved due to challenges that the Detroit Police Department faces in handling violent crime cases.
