Kayson Wright, a 19-month-old African American boy, tragically died on February 7, 2020, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence on Merwin Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Kayson had been shot in the chest while inside the home he shared with his parents. He was immediately transported by ambulance to Ochsner LSU Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
