On March 23, 2014, 33-year-old Charles Bell was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Denny's restaurant in Long Beach, California. The shooting occurred around 3:00 a.m. as Bell and three friends were leaving the restaurant. A male suspect, reportedly attempting to start a confrontation, escalated the situation into gunfire. Bell was struck in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three men sustained injuries but survived.
