Feras Morad, a 20-year-old college student, was killed on May 27, 2015, in Long Beach, California. Morad, who had been an accomplished debater and intended to study political science, fell from a second-story window and appeared disoriented when officers arrived. Officer Matthew Hernandez responded and, after a struggle, shot Morad, stating that he feared for his life as Morad approached with clenched fists.
