In the quiet town of Duson, Louisiana, the evening of Tuesday, October 13, 2020, was shattered by violence. Deputies from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office were called to a residence in the 100 block of Marigny Circle around 5:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Inside the home, they discovered the body of 35-year-old Loveless Willis, a male resident of Duson. He had been fatally shot.
The investigation into the death of Loveless Willis moved swiftly.
As authorities processed the scene and gathered information, a suspect was identified. The following day, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 28-year-old Samuel Shows, also from Duson.
Samuel Shows was taken into custody and charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of Loveless Willis. At the time of the arrest, law enforcement officials stated that the investigation was still active and ongoing. They continued to appeal to the public for any additional information related to the crime.
