On the morning of October 26, 2007, Boston Police officers from District C-11 responded to a call reporting a found body at 35 Westville Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival, they discovered a Black male in his 20s inside a motor vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, identified as Nicholas R. Copeland, a 20-year-old Black male from Mattapan, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be a homicide. ...
