In the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, on the evening of November 5, 2024, JaShaun Smith, a 45-year-old Black/African American man, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 8:03 PM at 15 Michigan Avenue, where officers from the B-3 District of the Boston Police Department responded to a report of a person shot and a ShotSpotter activation. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
