In the summer of 2021, a verbal altercation in a parking lot on Lone Oak Drive in Baton Rouge tragically cut short the life of 32-year-old Candis Burton. On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Burton was involved in a dispute with another individual when a man allegedly shot her. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
