Candis Burton, a 32-year-old woman from Prairieville, Louisiana, tragically lost her life on June 26, 2021, in Baton Rouge. Burton was involved in a verbal altercation with another individual in a parking lot at 3303 Lone Oak Drive around 2:00 p.m. During the altercation, Carlton Williams, a 37-year-old man from New Orleans, shot Burton. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
