On a Monday night in Baker, Louisiana, the life of Leon Washington, a 56-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short by gun violence. The fatal incident unfolded on September 27, 2021, at a mobile home park located just off Main Street on Azaela Avenue. When officers from the Baker Police Department arrived at the scene around 9:45 p.m., they discovered Mr. Washington and another man suffering from gunshot wounds.
