On December 25, 2008, Jason Durant, a 33-year-old man from Providence, Rhode Island, was fatally shot while attending a party at 646 Harvard Street in the Mattapan area of Boston. Police responded to a call around 3:26 AM and found Durant with multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The investigation revealed that a large gathering was taking place at the time of the shooting, and witnesses were present.
