In the spring of 2022, a young life was abruptly cut short in Metairie, Louisiana. Rodrick Cooks, a 22-year-old African American male from the nearby city of Hammond, became the victim of a fatal shooting on the evening of April 18th. The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office later identified Cooks as the deceased, confirming that his death was a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
