In the late spring of 2022, a dispute between two dump truck drivers in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, tragically ended the life of Jimmy Wayne Fullerton Jr. The 28-year-old male, known to friends and family as 'Bubba,' was fatally shot on May 11, 2022, following an altercation. The incident occurred near the Phillips 66 Refinery Alliance on Highway 23 and West Ravenna Road.
Authorities from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of the shooting and discovered Fullerton
at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate attention of emergency medical services, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. The confrontation that led to the deadly shooting was with another dump truck driver.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, deputies were able to quickly identify and locate a suspect. Kenneth Naquin, a 26-year-old from Metairie, was apprehended during a traffic stop. Naquin was subsequently arrested and faced a charge of second-degree murder. He was booked into the Plaquemines Parish Detention Center as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal dispute continued.
