In the spring of 2022, a beloved waitress's life was tragically cut short in what was initially described as a terrible accident. Cathy Watson, a 41-year-old woman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died on May 28, 2022, from a gunshot wound. Her fiancé, 31-year-old Gerald Smith, initially told authorities that Watson had accidentally shot herself in the head. She was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive her injuries.
