In the early, snow-swept hours of a December morning in 2009, the life of a young African-American man, Julian Rogers, was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on December 20th, amidst a storm, police responded to a call at 35 Hammond Street in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. There, they discovered 22-year-old Rogers suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
