On a Saturday afternoon in New Orleans, on September 3, 2022, Anthony Florant, a 31-year-old African American man, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Murl and Magellan Streets in the Algiers neighborhood. Anthony, born on July 4, 1991, was a father of five and was known for his dedication to his family.
