On February 10, 2010, 14-year-old Deyquan Gomez was fatally shot in front of 619 Cummins Highway in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. The shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. as Deyquan was walking with two friends near the Mattapan-Hyde Park train line. The shooter, who fired multiple rounds, struck Deyquan once or twice in the abdomen. His friends were unharmed, and the assailant quickly fled the scene in a dark-colored Dodge Caravan.
