William Caisse, a 32-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on April 7, 1979, in Paxton, Illinois. He was serving as a patrolman with the Paxton Police Department at the time of his death. The incident occurred during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 57, two miles south of Paxton. Patrolman Caisse had been dispatched to assist Illinois State Trooper Michael McCarter, who was attempting to stop four speeding vehicles traveling southbound.
