On a crisp Halloween morning in 2010, the life of Richard D. Brown, a 41-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. At approximately 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2010, police responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 60 Catawba Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man outside suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
