In the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, on the afternoon of March 24, 2011, a burst of gunfire shattered the daily rhythm at the intersection of Norfolk and Whitman streets. When the sound faded, 17-year-old Khris Mckinney, a young African-American male, was left fatally wounded.
