At 22 years old, Stewart, a resident of Dorchester who was affectionately known to his friends as "Bones," became another victim of street violence. The incident occurred on May 19, 2016, at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the Codman Square area, specifically near 87 Southern Avenue.
This act of violence marked the first homicide in the city since March of that year.
Emergency responders found Stewart suffering from gunshot wounds and quickly transported him to Boston Medical Center. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Friends and acquaintances remembered him as a fun-loving individual who had a passion for basketball.
