Do you know who killed Shongi? On the evening of August 31, 2014, a sense of unease settled over the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. Just before 8:00 p.m., in the area of 52 Claybourne Street, the life of 24-year-old Shongi Fernandes, an African-American male, was cut short by gunfire. When police responded to calls of shots fired, they discovered Fernandes suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner would later rule his death a homicide.
