Do you know who murdered Raheem? On a late spring evening in Boston, the life of a young Black man was tragically cut short. Raheem Browder, a 20-year-old male, was shot and killed on Sunday, May 29, 2011. The incident occurred at approximately 9:42 p.m. outside of 29 Selden Street in the Dorchester neighborhood.
Boston police officers from Area C-11 responded to a call for a person shot. Upon arrival, they found Browder suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding Browder's death. In the days and weeks that followed, authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest. The department encouraged community members to contact the Homicide Unit directly or to provide anonymous tips through the CrimeStoppers Tip Line.
Despite these efforts, the case of Raheem Browder's murder remains unsolved. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced in connection with his death. His killing was one of 34 homicides recorded in Dorchester and Mattapan in 2011. The Boston Police Department continues to list Raheem Browder's death as an unsolved homicide.
