On June 28, 1978, Charles Magarian, a 37-year-old resident of North Andover, Massachusetts, was one of the five victims of the notorious Blackfriars Massacre, a gangland-style killing that took place in the Blackfriars Pub in Downtown Boston. The pub, located on Summer Street, was a popular Irish-themed establishment that also operated as a late-night disco club. Magarian, along with the other victims, was found dead in the blood-splattered basement of the pub.
