On November 7, 2001, a promising young life was tragically cut short on a public transit platform in Boston, Massachusetts. Geoffrey Douglas, a 16-year-old male high school student at the Media and Technology Charter High School, was fatally shot at the Fields Corner MBTA station in the Dorchester neighborhood. An artist and popular student, he was on his way home when the violent encounter occurred. The motive for the attack was the theft of a gold chain necklace he was wearing.
