In the summer of 2011, the life of 39-year-old Lashon J. Washington, an African-American man from Dorchester, Massachusetts, was tragically cut short. On the fifth of July, Washington, affectionately known as "Disco," was found murdered in front of 310 Columbia Road in Dorchester. He was not alone in his final moments; alongside him was Joseph Winston, who also lost his life in the violent encounter.
