An African-American / Black male named Stefan Pires, aged 22, was fatally shot on the evening of September 27, 2012, in Boston, Massachusetts. The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. inside the Universal Barber Shop & Beauty Salon located at 436 Geneva Avenue in the Dorchester neighborhood. Pires was in the midst of getting a haircut when a lone gunman entered the establishment and opened fire. He was struck in the head and pronounced deceased at the scene.
