Camerion Blair, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 30, 2014, in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Dahvie Holmes, a 20-year-old male, and Robert Smith, a 21-year-old male, were both charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Holmes resided in the 7600 block of South South Shore Drive, while Smith lived in the 7600 block of South Coles Avenue. Prosecutors revealed that Blair and Smith were members of opposing gang factions, which likely contributed to the motive behind the shooting.
Surveillance footage played a crucial role in the investigation, capturing both Smith and Holmes approaching and fleeing the scene of the crime. Smith was arrested after a search of his home, where he was positively identified in a photo lineup and allegedly admitted to the shooting.
