Daniel Hampton, a 25-year-old African American man from Chicago, was fatally shot on June 21, 2015, at a fast-food restaurant in Dolton, Illinois. The incident occurred at Maxwell Street Polish, located at 1320 E. Sibley Blvd. According to the Lake County coroner’s office in Indiana, Daniel Hampton was pronounced dead at 4:47 a.m. at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Hammond. The cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
