Caprice McCollum Jr., a 16-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 16, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Caprice was critically wounded when he was shot in the head while playing dice with friends in the 1600 block of South Springfield Avenue around 9:45 p.m. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
