On October 19, 2015, at approximately 5:30 PM, Champaign Police responded to a reported shooting in the 600 block of West Beardsley Avenue in Champaign, Illinois. During this incident, two individuals were struck by gunfire, including 18-year-old Jeremy O'Neal, who succumbed to injuries sustained from a gunshot wound.
