Divina Salgado, a 38-year-old Hispanic woman, tragically lost her life on July 31, 2016, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. when Divina was returning home, carrying her one-year-old child. As she entered her residence on 3rd Avenue, she was fatally shot by her husband, Jose Arturo Salgado-Roque, who was 42 years old at the time.
