Andres Ochoa, a 31-year-old Hispanic male from Aurora, Illinois, tragically lost his life on September 4, 2016. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of High Street, where Ochoa was found unconscious and not breathing after being shot. He was attending a family gathering when a disturbance broke out, leading to the fatal shooting. Ochoa was struck in the upper body and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Presence Mercy Medical Center.
The primary suspect in this case is Efrain Salgado, a 24-year-old Hispanic male, who was also present at the family gathering. According to the Aurora Police Department, Salgado produced a handgun during the altercation and fired at Ochoa. Following the incident, an arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Salgado on September 5, 2016. Despite ongoing efforts by law enforcement, Salgado has not been apprehended and remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous, with his last known address being in the 500 block of Oakwood Avenue in Aurora.
