Martin Pegues, a 47-year-old resident of Aurora, Illinois, was fatally shot on October 5, 2023. The incident occurred in the backyard of a home located in the 100 block of North Calhoun Street, a neighborhood west of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Shortly before noon, city dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting shots fired and a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, police found Pegues suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
