Dinesty Tillman, a 23-year-old African American woman from Joliet, Illinois, tragically lost her life on September 25, 2016. She was driving near the intersection of Washington and Richards streets when she was shot in the head. Her brother, who was in the car with her, was also shot in the arm, and her 4-year-old daughter sustained a graze wound to her knee. Dinesty was pronounced dead at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center shortly after the incident.
