On the evening of January 21, 2017, during the rush hour at approximately 6:34 p.m., Boston police officers were called to the area of 56 Nightingale Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Jovani Devon Jeudy, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was Boston's second homicide victim of that year.
