Simmieon McGruder, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on January 3, 2017, in the Homan Square neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. The incident occurred at approximately 11:13 p.m. when officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 3200 block of West Lexington.
