Bruce Marshawn Owens, a 15-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 19, 2017, in Chicago, IL. Bruce was a student at Dunbar Career Academy and was fatally shot on the sidewalk in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The incident left the community in shock and mourning, as another young life was cut short due to gun violence.
