On August 9, 2017, Amilton Dossantos, a 27-year-old man from Dorchester, Boston, was tragically killed. He and another man, James Gomes, were found shot to death inside a car that had been set on fire near Elder Street in Dorchester. The police were called to the scene after the burning vehicle was discovered. Both men had sustained gunshot wounds before the fire was set. Investigators believe that the fire was likely an attempt to conceal evidence related to the crime.
