Darin Brandt, a 48-year-old white male from Sandoval, Illinois, was found dead on February 14, 2017. His death was ruled a suicide by the Marion County Coroner's Office. Brandt was discovered in the backyard of his home by family members, having died from a single gunshot wound to the head. The coroner, Troy Cannon, indicated that Brandt appeared to be despondent over an upcoming court case, which likely contributed to his decision to take his own life.
