Jalen Tyler, a 21-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on September 6, 2020, in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side of Chicago, Illinois. According to reports, officers responded to gunfire at approximately 3:26 a.m. and found Jalen Tyler on the ground with two gunshot wounds to the side of his head.
