Millian Caston, a 47-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on the night of June 7, 2017, at his home in Calumet City, Illinois. Emergency crews responded to reports of a shooting victim around 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of Hirsch Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Caston suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Franciscan Health in Hammond, Indiana, where he was pronounced dead at 11:58 p.m. The Lake County, Indiana, coroner's office ruled his death a homicide.
