On August 6, 2017, in Watseka, Illinois, 68-year-old Victoria Damia was found deceased alongside her husband, 74-year-old Jose Damia, in their mobile home within a senior community. Authorities determined the incident to be a murder-suicide. According to Watseka Police Lieutenant Detective Josh King, it is believed that Jose shot Victoria before contacting emergency services around 4 a.m., reporting chest pains, and then took his own life upon their arrival.
