Jawon Jermaine Garrett, a 40-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on September 13, 2017, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred at approximately 12:03 a.m. in the 2300 block of West Madison on the Near West Side. Garrett was with a group of males when two other males approached and opened fire. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:41 a.m. Garrett resided in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
