Anthony Collins

On November 19, 2017, Anthony Collins, a 30-year-old resident of Maywood, Illinois, was fatally shot in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. At approximately 1:46 p.m., Collins was in the 1600 block of North Mango Avenue when he was shot in the leg. He was subsequently pronounced dead at around 2:28 p.m.

In the moments leading up to his death, Collins reportedly attempted to dissuade the gunman from firing additional shots, pleading in vain for his life.
