Trevaun Romero Holloway, a 16-year-old African American male from Matteson, Illinois, tragically lost his life on November 6, 2018. Trevaun was a promising student and athlete, playing wide receiver and safety on Rich Central High School's football team while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He was also an honor roll student and had 12 siblings. On that fateful evening, around 5 p.m., Trevaun was driving his red Pontiac Grand Am when it crashed into a wooden fence. Upon investigation, police discovered that Trevaun had suffered multiple gunshot wounds before losing control of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County medical examiner's office conducted an autopsy and confirmed that Trevaun died from multiple gunshot wounds, ruling his death a homicide. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Willow Road, and the police closed the road until midnight to conduct their investigation.
