In the summer of 2007, the life of a young Black man, Donte Bracey, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. At 20 years of age, Bracey became another victim of the city's ongoing violence. On the evening of Thursday, August 2, 2007, he was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 500 block of East 23rd Street.
