On August 2, 2007, Donte Bracey, a 20-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, became yet another victim in the city's widespread violence. Bracey was shot in the back in the 500 block of East 23rd Street shortly before 11 p.m. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. His death contributed to Baltimore's already overwhelming number of homicides that year, highlighting the severity of violence plaguing the city.
