On a cold November evening in 2015, the life of Anthony Lamont Stewart, a 26-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. On November 16th, Stewart was found inside a bullet-riddled vehicle in the 2500 block of East Monument Street, the victim of a fatal shooting.
According to police reports from the time, officers responded to the scene to find the car crashed into a pole.
Stewart was discovered in the driver's seat, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The initial investigation suggested that the shooting had occurred a short distance away, in the 2400 block of East Biddle Street. It is believed that after being shot, Stewart attempted to drive away but succumbed to his injuries, leading to the crash.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, another man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. Investigators believed he was a passenger in the vehicle with Stewart at the time of the shooting. This individual was initially considered a person of interest in the case.
